Protection and Comfort from the Elements

The Columbia Cougar Flats II Cabin Tent is perfect in any weather. A unique Cyclone system provides perfect ventilation to keep you cool in the hottest of weather, and also provides plenty of fresh air, without letting out the heat in the colder camping months. The Columbia Cougar Flats Tent is waterproof with a 800mm coating, and its “GoBe Dry” system lets you go out even when heavy storms are predicted without any fear of getting wet. Seams won’t leak, and even the patented bay window is situated so perfectly, that you can leave it open to bring in that fresh rain smell without any water getting in the tent.

It’s Called Camping, Not Tenting

You don’t want to spend all your time setting up and tearing down. The Columbia Cougar Flats II Cabin Tent sets up fast, and collapses just as quickly. The wheeled storage bag makes putting it away easy with an expandable gusset that zips up as you stuff the tent in.

Rugged Flooring

The floor of a tent is probably the one part that gets the most wear and tear. While sides and tops of tents need to be weather proof, the floor has to be able to stand up to traffic and rough ground underneath. The Columbia Flats Tent has a strong nylon floor that resists tears and rips no matter how rugged the camping environment, or how rambunctious the children.

Room to Move

With two rooms the adults can have privacy from the kids, or a single/couple camper can enjoy a private bedroom separate from supplies and gear. The double cabin rooms can be unzipped to make one large room for the camper who really likes to spread out. There are overhead storage areas so tripping over gear in the dark is a thing of the past.

Heavenly Heights

At 6´5¨ I am not used to standing normally in a tent. Most family tents are great for the kids, but just let a grownup try and stand up without threatening to take out the roof. There’s no issues with the Columbia Cougar Flats II cabin Tent. If it is tall enough for me, it is tall enough for almost anyone. With over a seven-foot clearance you will be able to stand up with ease in any section of the tent.

Any complaints?

The newest version of the Columbia Cougar Flats II Cabin Tent has an awning that makes sitting out by the campfire a delight. However, it is located on the side of the cabin, rather than over the front opening which means you have to leave the protection of the awning in order to go in and out of the tent.

Bear in mind, for campers who like to hike deep into the woods, the Columbia Cougar Flats II Cabin Tent is a little heavy. At 54 pounds total weight, it is on the heavier side as it is a portable hotel. The good news is the wheeled storage bag makes it easier to pull along than a tent that you have to carry in a heavy duffel bag.
